The Venice Biennale is an art festival with a history of hundreds of years and one of the most important art events in Europe. It is also known as the three major art exhibitions in the world with the Kassel Document Exhibition in Germany and the São Paulo Biennial in Brazil, and its qualifications rank first among the three major exhibitions. It is hailed as a carnival event in the art world.

The Venice Biennale is an art biennial in odd-numbered years (such as 2013 and 2015) and an architecture biennial in even-numbered years (such as 2014 and 2016). The exhibition is generally divided into two parts: the National Pavilion and the Theme Pavilion. The main exhibitions are contemporary art and architectural art. The Venice Film Festival is part of the Venice Biennale.
