Lido

Lido, a long sandbar southeast of Venice, Italy, has 20,000 inhabitants. Many tourists come here on vacation every summer. The casino on the island is now closed. The Venice Film Festival is held here from the end of August to the beginning of September every year.

 

There are three residential areas in Lido, the northernmost is Lido, which is also where the film festival is held, and has luxury hotels. Maramoko in the middle is the oldest residential area on the island, and for a long time it was also the only residential area on the island. It is the residence of the Duke of Venice. Alberoni in the south has a fortress and a golf course.

 

At least half the length of the island facing the Adriatic Sea is a sandy beach. Most of them belong to different summer resort hotels. Thomas Mann's "Death of Venice" happened in one of these restaurants. Only at the northern and southern ends of the island are two huge publicly open beaches.

 

The most prosperous on the island is Santa Maria Elisabetta Avenue, which is about 700 meters long and spans Lido from the shallow sea facing the Venetian side to the Adriatic waterfront. There are many hotels, shops and hospitality tours along the street. Restaurant. On the side of the shallow sea, there are boats to Venice, the Italian mainland, other islands and Venice Marco Polo Airport.
