Venice

Lido, a long sandbar southeast of Venice, Italy, has 20,000 inhabitants. Many tourists come here on vacation every summer. The casino on the island is now closed. The Venice Film Festival is held here from the end of August to the beginning of September every year.

The most prosperous on the island is Santa Maria Elisabetta Avenue, which is about 700 meters long and spans Lido from the shallow sea facing the Venetian side to the Adriatic waterfront.
